Team ECO2NCRETE captures Social Impact Prize for 2023 SEAS Senior Project Competition
Congratulations to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) Team ECO2NCRETE, who was awarded the Social Impact Prize in the 2023 School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) Senior Project competition.
Three MSE teams, (ECO2NCRETE, Pourogami, and Tooth Fairy), competed against seniors from five SEAS departments, with Team ECO2NCRETE (members; Emma Glasser, Kimerly Jackson, Leslie Lytle, Sahana Sundar, and Yein Yoon) awarded the Social Impact Prize with their research project.
ECO2NCRETE’s mission is to contribute to the reduction of CO2 global emissions during the production of concrete, which accounts for 8% of the world’s CO2 emissions by using inventive formulas that meet industry standards for strength while reducing emissions. The team is supported by scientific advisor, Shu Yang, and Postdoc mentor, Kun-Hao Yu.
