Eric Stach Named Scientific Director of the Singh Center for Nanotechnology

Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science, Vijay Kumar, announced the appointment of Eric Stach as the new Scientific Director of the Singh Center for Nanotechnology. Currently the Robert D. Bent Professor of Engineering in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Director of the Laboratory for Research on the Structure of Matter (LRSM)the NSF Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) at Penn, Stach brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role at the Singh Center.

Stach’s distinguished career in materials science and engineering, specifically in transmission electron microscopy, combined with his extensive experience managing interdisciplinary research teams, positions him uniquely to lead the Singh Center towards new heights of achievement. Under his guidance, the Center is expected to further its mission of facilitating groundbreaking research and developing technologies that address pressing societal challenges.

In this new position, Stach will oversee the Singh Center’s strategic direction, fostering innovation and collaboration among academia and industry. His leadership will be instrumental in enhancing the Center’s research capabilities and expanding its impact on nanotechnology education and commercialization.
